The European Youth Caravan n°2 in Britany

After the trip to the east of France our caravan arrived in Bretagne. First stop: Rennes.
On Wednesday 11 July the participants of the caravan were warmly welcomed in the MQM Rennes. It was also the official inaguration of a mural painting that had been created for the occasion of the arrival of the caravan by the members of the mouvement in Rennes.
The next day the habitants of the district Maurepas received the caravan with a home-made couscus during the SAP. After this culinary delight we could continue to get to know each other around different workshops or a cup of coffee…
On Friday 13th July (which to our pleasant surprise turned out to be a sunny day) the caravan visited two others districts: le Blosne and Villejean for an afternoon of fun and creativity with children, teenagers and adults around the sihlouttes, juggling and music.
On Saturday we presented and explained the "Call to Action" to by-passers in a market place. Not only was it a chance to collect signatures but also to have interesting discussions. Then we watched a play prepared by the children during the SAP. Some of us tasted the local speciality gallette saucisse. That day something magical happened: parents came down to join us on the benches, children ran around happily with colourful make up on their faces…

The day ended with a slam session and a presentation of videos from Strasbourg, Breda and Lille…
On Sunday 15 July we participated in the regional family fun day. The day started off with a colourful parade which marched from the school in the Maurepas district right to the heart of the lovely park of Gayeulles. After a nice picnic it was time for different activities: the palets* were thrown, markers brushed paper, mouths and hearts opened… What a lovely day!

Finally, on Monday July 16th we were present on the St Anne’s square between the the entrance to the metro and the numerous cafes. We acted out a scene from the Forum theatre, an interactive form of theater where the public can replace an actor to propose a solution to a problem… Despite the rain, the public participated enthousiastically to the show. Then it was time to leave. In such a short time we had experienced so many beautiful things together and our farewell was very emotional. See you on the 17th of October !

Don’t forget that the most important for us is to exchange and share what we are experiencing. So don’t hesitate to send us an email with your comments, questions and suggestions at caravanes2@atd-quartmonde.org
Thanks. We hope to hear from you soon !
